Systems Administrator (m/f)

As a Linux/Solaris System Administrator at GameDuell, you'll be supporting a high-volume website with over two million hits per month. We are looking for a senior system administrator with enthusiasm and experience who can support our quick-moving developers and the online server farm.

Your tasks:                    

• Further expansion of our Gameduell Online server farm (doubled in 2008)
• Manage the Online Technologies: SAN, OpenVZ, Backup, Firewalls, DNS and Routing
• Create, configure and maintain virtual environments
• Plan and support the realisation of scaling, security and availability provisions
• Write and maintain Perl and Shell scripts
• Provide technical solutions for our Developer Team
• On-call duty may be required

What should you bring?

You're a capable, enthusiastic person who enjoys working in a team. Your extensive knowledge of Linux systems is matched by your varied experiences working in production environments. Our young, dynamic company will be impressed by your communication skills, your creativity and your self-management skills.

You have the following skills:

• at least 7 years professional experience with Linux and/or Solaris systems
• experience with virtual environments
• extensive experience with configuration, installation, maintenance and administration
• ability to operate in a 24/7 production environment
• strong shell and perl scripting capability
• good knowledge of OpenSource applications and utilities
• B.Sc. Degree in Computer Science, IT, related field or equivalent work experience

Information about the position:

• Opening: Immediate and open-ended (Consultants: at least 4 months)
• 40 hours per week
• Salary: Industry standard and according to qualification
